RAD announces its 3rd Annual RAD Prague Tour, scheduled for January 31 to February 7, 2008. During this trip current FMB and prospective RAD students will tour the University of New York in Prague, as well as visit popular tourist attractions in and around Prague—including Prague Castle, Karlstein Castle and Karlovy Vary.
Students interested in joining this tour should see RAD Manager Brandt Westberg immediately.

RAD wishes the best of luck to nine RAD students who will begin their one-year study abroad at the University of New in Prague on September 21. Upon completion of their studies in June 2008, each of them will receive a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Empire State College of the State University of New York.

The Russian-American Department is pleased to announce that Anna Sergeeva, a 4th-year RAD student from the OmGU School of Economics, has received the Broome Community College Foundation’s Norm Herbert Scholarship. This scholarship covers all study and housing expenses for Anna’s studies at Broome Community College for the upcoming Fall 2007 semester in Binghamton, New York.
Anna is the second RAD student this year to receive a free semester of study at Broome Community College (you can read Julia Ionova’s BCC Blog).
Congratulations Anna, and good luck in Binghamton!

The Russian-American Department congratulates Alena Lepilina, Dmitri Grinev, Mikhail Kuznetsov, Alisher Ariphodjaev, and Alexandra Selyuk on receiving their Bachelors Degrees in Business Administration from Empire State College (State University of New York). All five students received their degrees from Empire State College while completing a one-year study abroad program at the University of New in Prague (UNYP).
Alena, Dmitri, Mikhail and Alisher received their Bachelors Degrees during UNYP’s graduation on June 23 at the Zofin Palace, located on an island in the Vltava River in the center of Prague.
Congratulations Alena, Dmitri, Mikhail, Alisher and Alexandra!

The Russian-American Department is pleased to announce the renewal of its successful relationship with Empire State College of the State University of New York. Following the UNYP Graduation ceremonies at the Zofin Palace on June 23, FMB Dean Yuri Petrovich Dus and Empire State College’s International Program Dean, Kingston Nyamapfene, signed a memorandum of agreement renewing cooperation between Empire State College and the Omsk State University’s School of International Business through the Russian-American Department’s Dual-Degree Program.

RAD congratulates RAD students Natalia Kapralova, Julia Chepurko, Kristina Karabanova and Alina Smakovskaia on sharing 1st Place in the School of International Business for the 31st Students Science Conference “The Youth of the Third Millennium.” Natalia and Julia presented their work titled “The Rise and Future Demise of the Leading Economic System,” while Kristina and Alina’s work was titled “Globalization and Gender Issues.”
Kristina and Alina will now represent the School of International Business at the university-wide competition “The Youth of the Third Millennium” at Omsk’s Pushkin Library.

RAD would like to congratulate Alena Lepilina, a 2006 graduate of the World Economy Department of the OmGU School of International Business and current Empire State College/UNYP student, on her recent employment with Sitronics. Alena has been hired in the Sitronics Center for Training and Technical Documentation in Prague, Czech Republic. Sitronics is one of the largest hi-tech firms in Eastern and Central Europe.

3. Highlights included a tour of the
University of New York in Prague (including a UNYP sponsored trip to a Czech Pub!),
a Prague city tour, the Karlstein Castle, Karlovy
Vary, ice skating, a Czech hockey match, Czech pubs, along with a lot of shopping
