RAD English Language Programs
The
Russian-American Department offers both students and adults the opportunity to
improve their English language skills through our Business English and General
English Conversation courses.
All RAD
English Language Courses are taught by American or British instructors.
Business English I
Business
English I is an introductory business language course covering such topics as
globalization, brands and branding, business travel, advertising, trade,
innovation, organizations, money, business ethics, business cultures,
leadership and quality. Special emphasis
is placed on building students’ business vocabulary. This specialist vocabulary is then applied
and activated through extensive in-class discussion.
Business
English I consists of two semesters of instruction with a total of 90
student-instructor contact hours. Upon
completion of the course, students will receive a RAD Certificate.
Pre-intermediate,
intermediate and upper-intermediate students may participate in Business
English I.
Business English II
Business
English II is an advanced business language course that emphasizes business
conversation, presentations and application of communication theory. Students take part in classroom discussions
on a variety of business-related themes, including travel and tourism,
marketing, branding, product placement, international trade, and current
business and economic events. In
addition, students regularly make in-class power-point presentations to the
group.
Business English
II consists of two semesters of instruction with a total of 90
student-instructor contact hours. Upon
completion of the course, students will receive a RAD Certificate.
General English Conversation
English
Conversation is a course designed to improve students’ verbal and listening
comprehension abilities. Discussion topics include cultural differences, travel
and tourism, sports, fashion, food and cuisine, relationships, cinema and
theater, music and international business.
This course
consists of one semester of instruction with a total of 40 student-instructor
contact hours. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a RAD
Certificate.
